Trio’s composition selection, performance, connects human nature with Mother Nature

Oh, what an ethereal and gently restorative spring concert Anima Mundi Productions presented in the Music Recital Hall at Southern Oregon University Sunday, March 22! Twenty deeply moving songs made up the “For Love of Nature” concert — praising the rain, sensing the snow, calling on the moon, all while echoing loneliness and lost love among the trees on a stage bursting with spring flower arrangements by Tiziana DellaRovere.
The only low note to this “une experience onirique” was, perhaps, that it went by too quickly, like a sudden spring rain you would love to feel, again and again.
The concert featured the mesmerizing, full-bodied voice of Grammy award-winning mezzo soprano Cecilia Duarte, the complimentary, exquisitely-rendered piano virtuosity of Ana Maria Otamendi and the pulsing of Flamenco-born bass beats delivered from the steady hands of percussionist Jesús Pacheco.
This ode to human nature and Mother Nature accentuated folk-inspired pieces from six great composers from six different countries: Italy, Argentina, Germany, France, Spain and Mexico...
